Arsenal FC has booked their place in the semi-finals of the UEFA Women's Champions League after a convincing 2-0 victory over Bayern Munich in the quarter-final second leg. Despite losing the first leg 1-0 in Germany, the Gunners put in a dominant performance at the Emirates Stadium to secure their first semi-final appearance in a decade.
Frida Maanum opened the scoring for Arsenal in the first half with a stunning strike from outside the box. Stina Blackstenius then headed home the winning goal early in the second half to give Arsenal a 2-1 aggregate victory.
Arsenal's victory is a testament to their resilience and determination. After conceding an away goal in the first leg, the Gunners knew they would need to overturn the deficit in front of their home crowd. They did so in emphatic fashion, controlling possession and creating numerous chances.
Bayern Munich, on the other hand, will be disappointed not to have progressed to the semi-finals. Arsenal will face either Chelsea or Paris Saint-Germain in the semi-finals. The first leg of the semi-finals is scheduled for April 22, with the second leg taking place on April 29.
