Auburn head coach Hugh Freeze spoke to the media following the Tigers' 49-27 loss to the Alabama Crimson Tide in the Iron Bowl. Freeze expressed disappointment with the outcome but praised his team's effort.
"We're disappointed with the loss, but I'm proud of our guys," Freeze said. "They played hard and gave it everything they had. We just came up short tonight."
Freeze said the Tigers were not able to make enough plays to win the game. "We didn't make enough plays tonight, especially in the second half," he said. "We had some opportunities, but we just couldn't capitalize on them."
Despite the loss, Freeze said he believes his team is headed in the right direction. "We're still a young team, and we're learning," he said. "We'll learn from this loss and come back stronger next year."
