Deadly Tornado Rips Through Houston
Severe Storm Brings Destruction
A deadly tornado ripped through Houston, Texas, on Thursday night, causing widespread damage and leaving one person dead. The National Weather Service (NWS) confirmed that the tornado was an EF-1, with winds reaching 110 mph. The tornado touched down in Cypress and moved through northeast Houston, damaging homes and businesses.
In addition to the tornado, Houston also experienced straight-line winds that reached up to 70 mph. These winds caused significant damage to trees and power lines, leaving thousands of residents without power.
The NWS has issued a tornado watch for the region until 10 pm. Residents are urged to stay indoors and be aware of the potential for severe weather.
