Spanish Manufacturing Activity Grows for Fifth Consecutive Month
PMI Indicator Suggests Gradual Expansion
Latest Figures Show Modest Growth, Slowing Expansion
Despite global economic uncertainties, Spanish manufacturing activity expanded for a fifth consecutive month in July, according to the latest Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) compiled by S&P Global.
The headline PMI for Spain stood at 51.0 in July, down from 52.3 in June, but remaining above the 50-point threshold that separates expansion from contraction.
The slowdown in growth was attributed to weaker domestic demand and a decline in new orders from abroad. However, positive contributions from production and employment indicators signaled some resilience in the sector.
